"Kwa maana jinsi hii Mungu aliupenda ulimwengu, hata akamtoa Mwanawe pekee, ili kila mtu amwaminiye asipotee, bali awe na uzima wa milele." Yohana 3:16.

3. Kuongozwa na kufarijiwa na huruma ya Yesu kwa mwenye dhambi ina maana kwamba tunapaswa kuwa wakweli kuhusu udhaifu wetu na kumsihi Yesu kutusaidia kushinda dhambi zetu. Yesu anatambua udhaifu wetu, na anataka tumpate kwa njia yoyote tunayoweza kumkaribia. "Kwa kuwa Kristo naye aliteseka kwa ajili ya dhambi mara moja, mwenye haki kwa ajili ya wote wasio haki, ili awaongoze ninyi kwa Mungu; akiwa amefanywa kuwa mauti katika mwili, lakini aliufanywa hai katika roho." 1 Petro 3:18.

4. Kuwa mwenye dhambi inamaanisha kwamba sisi ni wa kawaida, na hivyo tunaweza kujibu kwa namna hiyo tunapokuwa na dhambi. Kwa mfano, tunaweza kujaribu kuficha dhambi zetu au kuzificha kutokana na wengine, au tunaweza kutumia mbinu za kibinadamu kujaribu kushinda dhambi zetu. Hata hivyo, Yesu anataka tupate kumpendeza yeye kwa kuungama dhambi zetu na kumwachia yeye kutusaidia kushinda dhambi hizo. "Kama twasema ya kwamba hatuna dhambi, twajidanganya wenyewe, wala kweli haiko moyoni mwetu." 1 Yohana 1:8.

5. Tunapomfuata Yesu, tunapata faraja kutoka kwake, kwani yeye anatuambia kwa uwazi kwamba atakuwa nasi katika kila wakati, hata wakati wa dhiki. "Nami nawaahidi ninyi, ya kwamba, lo lote mtakalolifunga duniani, litakuwa limefungwa mbinguni; na lo lote mtakalolifungua duniani, litakuwa limefunguliwa mbinguni. Tena nawaambia, ya kwamba, wawili wenu watakapokubaliana duniani kwa jambo lo lote watakaloliomba, watafanyiwa na Baba yangu aliye mbinguni." Mathayo 18:18-19.

6. Wakati tunapokabiliwa na majaribu, tunapaswa kuomba msaada wa Yesu, ambaye anatuwezesha kupata nguvu za kushinda dhambi na kudumu katika imani yetu. "Basi, kwa sababu tunaye kuhani mkuu aliyeingia mbinguni, Yesu, Mwana wa Mungu, na kwa sababu tunashikilia sana ungamo letu lile kuu, turudiane na kumkaribia kwa ujasiri wa moyo, katika imani kamili yenye kuhakikisha mioyo yetu, tumeosha mioyo yetu na kusafishwa miili yetu kwa maji safi." Waebrania 4:14-16.

7. Tunapompenda Yesu na kumfuata, sisi tunakuwa vyombo vya neema yake. Hivyo, tunaweza kuonyesha upendo na huruma kwa wengine, kama vile Yesu alivyotufunulia. "Tena, ya kwamba msiwe wajinga, bali mfahamu ni nini yaliyo mapenzi ya Bwana." Waefeso 5:17.

8. Kufuata mafundisho ya Yesu kunaweza kuwa changamoto, lakini ni muhimu kwa ukuaji wetu wa kiroho. Tunapaswa kuwa na uvumilivu na kuwa tayari kubadilika ili kufuata njia ya Yesu. "Basi kwa kuwa mmepokea Kristo Yesu, Bwana, endeleeni kuishi katika yeye, mkizidi kukua katika imani yenu, na kuimarishwa zaidi kwa kufundishwa kwenu; mkishukuru kwa kila jambo, kwa kuwa jambo hili ni la Mungu kwenu." Wakolosai 2:6-7.

9. Tunapokuwa na mashaka, tunapaswa kutafuta ushauri kutoka kwa wale wanaoongoza kanisa, ambao wamepewa jukumu la kutusaidia kufuata njia ya Yesu. "Wakubwa wenu wanawakandamiza, lakini katikati yenu isiwe hivyo; bali yeye anayetaka kuwa mkuu kwenu, na awe mtumishi wenu; na yule atakayejipa mwenyewe kuwa mkuu, atakuwa mtumishi wa wote. Kwa maana hata Mwana wa Adamu alikuja, si kutumikiwa, bali kutumika, na kutoa nafsi yake kuwa fidia ya watu wengi." Mathayo 20:26-28.

10. Kwa hiyo, tunapomfuata Yesu, tunapata mwongozo, faraja, na huruma ya Mungu. Tunapaswa kuwa wakweli kuhusu udhaifu wetu, kuomba msaada wa Yesu, na kuwa tayari kubadilika kufuata njia yake. Tunapaswa pia kuwa vyombo vya upendo na huruma, na kutafuta ushauri kutoka kwa wale wanaoongoza kanisa. "Kwa maana yeye aliyemwezesha kuyafanya hayo yote, ni Mungu wetu, ambaye amekuwa na sisi kwa wema wake, na kututoa katika giza, na kutuingiza katika ufalme wa Mwanawe mpendwa." Wakolosai 1:13.
