Wakati wana wa Israel wanatoka Misri kuelekea nchi ya Kaanani, Mungu aliwaahidi kuwapa mji wa Yeriko. Kwahiyo walipofika ng'ambo ya mto Yordani, Yoshua akatuma wapelezi wawili kwenda kuipeleleza Yeriko kabla wana wa Israel kuivamia na kuitwaa. Wale wapelelezi walipofika mji wa Yeriko mfalme akapelekewa taarifa kuwa kuna watu wawili wameingia kuipeleleza nchi.

Kwahiyo mfalme akaagiza wakamatwe na wauawe. Wale wapelelezi wakaingia ktk nyumba ya mwanamke kahaba aitwaye Rahabu akawaficha darini. Akawafunika kwa mabua ya kitani. Wale askari walipofika na kumuuliza Rahabu kwamba wako wapi waisrael wawili walioingia humu ndani, Rahabu akajibu kuwa wameondoka.

Akasema ni kweli waliingia ktk nyumba yangu lakini walitoka kabla lango la mji halijafungwa. Akawaambia wafuateni haraka kabla hawajafika mbali. Wale askari wakatoka kuwafuata wale wapelelezi hadi katika vilima vya nje ya mji lakini wasiwaone. Ilipofika usiku Rahabu akawashusha darini wale wapelelezi na kuwaelekeza namna ya kutoroka mji wa Yeriko. Akawaelekeza wapite njia nyingine tofauti na ile waliyoiendea wale askari. Akawashusha kupitia dirishani ili watu wa mji ule wasiwaone.

Kwa ukarimu aliowatendea wale wapelelezi wakaweka agano nae kwamba siku wana wa Israel wakija kuiangamiza Yeriko, BWANA ataiponya nyumba ya Rahabu na ndugu zake wote. Ili kutimiza agano hilo wale wapelezi wakamwambia Rahabu weka kamba nyekundu katika dirisha lako kama alama, ili jeshi la Israel liltakapouteketeza mji nyumba yako isiangamizwe.

Yoshua 2:17 &18 "Wale wapelelezi wakamwambia Rahabu, Sisi tunataka tusiwe na hatia kwa ajili ya kiapo hiki ulichotuapisha. Angalia, tutakapoingia katika nchi hii, funga kamba hii nyekundu katika dirisha hili ulilotuteremshia; nawe uwakusanye nyumbani mwako, baba yako, mama yako, na ndugu zako, na watu wote wa nyumba ya baba yako."

Rahabu akafanya hivyo, na siku Jeshi la Israel lilipovamia Mji wa Yeriko ili kuuteketeza, Rahabu na ndugu zake walipona.

Yoshua 6:23 &24 "Basi wale vijana wapelelezi wakaingia, wakamtoa Rahabu, na baba yake, na mama yake, na ndugu zake, na vitu vyote walivyokuwa navyo, wakawatoa na jamaa zake wote pia; wakawaweka nje ya matuo ya Israeli. Kisha wakauteketeza mji kwa moto, na vitu vyote vilivyokuwa ndani yake…"

MORAL OF THE STORY.!
Habari hii ina mengi ya kutufundisha lakini leo nataka nikufundishe kuhusiana na siri ya kamba nyekundu ambayo Rahabu aliiweka katika dirisha lake na jinsi ilivyomuokoa.

Rahabu hakua mtakatifu, hakuwa mteule wa Mungu wala hakuwa kizazi cha Israel. Alikua mwanamke wa mataifa, tena kahaba. Hakuwa mwema sana machoni pa Mungu. Lakini aliokoka kwa sababu ya "kamba nyekundu" dirishani mwake. Pengine wapo maaskofu, wachungaji, mitume au manabii walioangamizwa, lakini kahaba Rahabu akaokolewa yeye na ndugu zake licha ya kwamba alikua kahaba. Siri ni "kamba nyekundu" dirishani mwake.

Jiulize je wewe unayo kamba nyekundu? Kuna watu katika maisha wanaonekana wenye dhambi, wachafu, dhaifu au wasiofaa, lakini Mungu huwanyanyua na kuwabariki na kuwaacha wale tunaodhani ni watakatifu au wenye haki. Mungu anaangalia "kamba nyekundu". Unaweza kuwa mtakatifu lakini huna "kamba nyekundu" itakayomfanya Mungu akurehemu.

Unaweza kuwa umemaliza masomo yako na umefaulu vizuri, lakini kila unapoomba kazi huitwi hata kwenye usaili, na ukiitwa hupati kazi, miaka inazidi kwenda. Unaamua kwenda kwenye maombi. Kila siku unafanya maombi lakini bado hufanikiwi. Unajiuliza tatizo liko wapi. Unaji-asses na kuona hakuna tatizo mahali. Kumbe huna "kamba nyekundu"

Au unaweza kuwa una biashara yako lakini haifanikiwi. Hupati wateja. Umehitahidi kwa kila hali lakini bado huoni faida. Unadhani tatizo labda Mungu amekuacha. Unaamua kuwa mtu wa maombi. Unazunguka makanisa mbalimbali kuonbewa lakini bado haufanikiwi. Kumbe huna "kamba nyekundu".

"Kamba nyekundu" imekuwa siri ya mafanikio ya watu wengi bila kujalisha mahusiano yao kiroho na Mungu. Bila kujalisha kama ni wakristo au si wakristo. Kamba nyekundu imewasaidia hata wenye dhambi kubarikiwa. Rahabu alikua kahaba lakini yeye na ndugu zake waliokolewa kwa sababu ya "kamba nyekundu".

Je kamba nyekundu ni nini? Kamba nyekundu ni mfumo wako wa maisha; jinsi unavyoishi na unayowatendea watu wengine, hasa "wateule" wa Mungu.

Kuna wakati Mungu huamua kukubariki si kwa sababu wewe ni mwema sana, bali kwa sababu kuna watu wema wanaoomba kwa ajili yako. Inawezekana tangu uanze kuomba, maombi yako hayajawahi kufika kwa Mungu lakini unabarikiwa, kwa sababu ya kamba nyekundu.

Kuna watu ambao ni "wateule" wa Mungu, kwahiyo kadri unavyowatendea mema hao watu baraka zinakuja kwako "automatically" hata kama wewe si mkristo. Rahabu aliwatendendea mema wapelelezi wa Israel baraka zikaenda kwake "automatically" bila kujalisha kwamba alikua kahaba.

Yatima, wajane, maskini, wazee, wagonjwa na wengine wenye uhitaji ni wateule wa Mungu. Kwahiyo ukiwatendea mema watu hawa baraka zinakuja kwako hata kama wewe ni mwenye dhambi.

Kwa mfano kama kuna watoto yatima unawasomesha, au kuna wajane unawasaidia mahitaji yao, au wagonjwa unawasaidia matibabu, si rahisi Mungu kuondoa mkono wake wa baraka kwako hata kama wewe ni mwenye dhambi. Mungu akiondoa baraka kwako watu wake watateseka.

Wale yatima, wajane, wagonjwa ambao wewe ni msaada kwao kila wakiomba Mungu huongeza baraka kwako ili uzidi kuwahudumia. Inawezekana maombi yako hayafikagi kwa Mungu lakini unabarikiwa kwa sababu ya maombi ya hao unawaosaidia.

Kuna wakati Mungu anaweza kuamua kuzipiga dhoruba biashara za wenzako, lakini ya kwako ikasimama imara. Si kwa sababu wewe ni mwema sana, bali kwa sababu kuna watu wanamlilia Mungu kwa ajili yako. Kuna wanategemea ada za shule kwenye hiyo biashara yako. Kuna watu wanategemea pesa za matibabu kwenye biashara yako. Kwa hiyo Mungu akiyumbisha biashara yako atakua anawaumiza watu hao. So ili asiwaumize anaamua kukuaacha. Hiyo ni kamba nyekundu.!

Kuna wakati wenzio wakifanya makosa madogo kazini wanafukuzwa kazi, lakini unajishangaa wewe umefanya makosa makubwa na hufukuzwi. Si kwa sababu una bahati sana. Ni kamba nyekundu. Kuna watu walioko nyuma yako ambao ni wateule wa Mungu. Kuna yatima wanategemea kulipiwa ada kwa mshahara wako, kuna wagonjwa wanategemea kusaidiwa hela za matibabu kwenye mshahara wako, kuna wajane wanategemea hela ya kuishi kutoka kwako. Kwahiyo Mungu akikuadhibu anakua amewaadhibu na wao. Kwahiyo ili wapone inabidi akulinde hata kama umefanya kosa kazini. Unashangaa tu kesi imeisha hata kwa namna ambayo hujui. Hiyo ni kamba nyekundu.!

Kuna mtu ambaye ni maskini wa kutupwa hana hata uwezo wa kununua sukari. Lakini anamuomba Mungu kwa imani kuwa ampe sukari aweze kunywa chai kila siku. Kwa kuwa huyo maskini huwa anapata sukari kutoka kwako, Mungu atazidi kukubariki ili uendelee kumhudumia huyo maskini. Hiyo ni Kamba nyekundu.!

Kamba nyekundu ilimuokoa Rahabu na ndugu zake licha ya kwamba alikua kahaba. Jiulize wewe una kamba nyekundu? Je kuna watu wako nyuma yako ambao Mungu akiwaangalia anakubariki, anakuokoa hata kama upo kwenye hatari?

Kama unamsomesha mwanao shule ya "mamilioni" kwa mwaka wakati mtoto wa jirani yako hana hata uniform za kuendea shule, au unatumia "mamilioni" kwa pombe na starehe wakati kuna wagonjwa wanaokufa kwa kukosa panadol, siku Mungu akitaka kukuadhibu hajiulizi mara mbili maana huna "kamba nyekundu" nyuma yako.

Lakini yule anayesaidia wenye uhitaji, kama yatima, wagonjwa, wazee, wajane,walemavu, au maskini atazidi kubarikiwa tu hata kama ni mwenye dhambi, maana anayo kamba nyekundu.

Hii ni kwa sababu Mungu akitaka kumuadhibu, kabla hajamtizama yeye anatizama kwanza yatima walioko nyuma yake anaowasaidia, anatizama wagonjwa wanaomtegemea kwa matibabu, anatizama wajane. Anaona akimuadhibu, atakuwa ameadhibu na hao wanaomtegemea. Kwa hiyo anaamua kumuacha.

Hii ina maana kuwa baraka na utakatifu ni vitu viwili tofauti. Unaweza usiwe mtakatifu lakini Mungu akakubariki na akakulinda. Unaweza kubarikiwa si kwa sababu unastahili, bali kwa sababu kuna "wanaostahili" wapo nyuma yako wakikupigania kwa baba yao (Yehova). Ndio maana kuna watu wengi wasio Wakristo wanabarikiwa kila siku hata kama hawamjui Mungu. Ni kwa sababu wana "kamba nyekundu".
