Baba yake, akiwa na huruma tele na upendo mwingi, alimwona mwanae akija kwa mbali na alimwendea mbio, akimsalimia kwa furaha kubwa. Alimkumbatia na kumwambia, "Mwanangu, nimekuwa nikitamani sana urudi nyumbani. Ulikuwa umepotea lakini sasa umepatikana!"

Kisha baba yake alitoa amri, "Nileteeni pete nzuri, vazi bora na viatu vyenye kung'aa! Tumefurahi kwa sababu mwana wangu amepatikana."

Mwana mpotevu alishangaa kwa upendo wa baba yake na jinsi alivyopokelewa vizuri. Hakuwa anastahili kupokelewa kwa njia hii, lakini baba yake alimpa msamaha, furaha, na upendo.

Ni hadithi ya kuvutia sana, sivyo? Inatuonyesha jinsi Mungu anavyotupenda na kutusamehe bila kujali dhambi zetu. Kama vile baba katika hadithi, Mungu wetu mwenye upendo anatutegemea kurudi kwake wakati tunapopotea au kufanya makosa. Anatutaka tuje kwake ili atuonyeshe huruma na upendo wake mkubwa.

Biblia inatufundisha kuwa "Mungu ni upendo" (1 Yohana 4:8). Ili tuweze kufurahia huruma na msamaha wa Mungu, tunahitaji kumgeukia na kumwomba msamaha. Je, umewahi kuhisi kama mwana mpotevu katika hadithi? Je, umewahi kusahau kumwomba Mungu msamaha wako? Hebu tufanye hivyo leo na kuomba msamaha kutoka kwa Baba yetu wa mbinguni, ambaye anatupokea kwa huruma na upendo.

Ninakualika sasa kusali pamoja nami. Tuombe pamoja, tukisema, "Mungu wangu mwenye upendo, nakuja kwako leo naomba msamaha wako. Najua nimeshindwa na nimepotea, lakini ninakuomba unisaidie na unipe msamaha wako. Nifanye nijue upendo wako mkubwa na huruma yako tele. Asante kwa kunipokea na kunisamehe. Amina."

Jina la Yesu, ninakubariki kwa upendo wake usio na kifani na msamaha wake usioisha. Ninakutakia siku njema na furaha tele. Mungu akubariki! 🙏😊
